A Catharsis and a Homage!
Lia Mekas, sleuth, wakes up to a terror-filled dream with a green Jade Stone writhing in the wet darkness about to devour her. She summons her fellowship, the Entlings, Eva - Norma - Rita and Rue to help her sleuth out the puzzle before the University Reunion.
At the Reunion they meet the sinister Vitas Petras a Sauron-like figure who seems to be instrumental in the fall of the Wizard, Tomas Linas, down the University Library stairwell. Is Lia's Nemesis, Gaila Petras trying to warn her or is she an accomplice to the fall?
As the puzzle pieces fall into place, the sleuths realize there are other pieces in Lithuania.
The quest for the Jade Collection continues from New York to Lithuania to England as the Entlings are pursued by a new evil more deadly than the original Master Planner, The Worm. A wounded Al Baltas continues his path to redemption as new puzzle parts are discovered.
Coming home from Europe, the Entlings plan an Auction to snare the Worm but it backfires and Rita the Pipster is caught in its claws. Their flaws overpower them; Lia almost loses Eriks, the love of her life; Eva takes a giant step in her love life; Norma loses someone very dear and never recouperates...Even though the lair is shut , the pain leaves open wounds, never healing their turbulent souls.
